Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) reported a 3.8-percent increase in first-half consolidated core net income to P26.5 billion from P25.5 billion a year ago even as company chairman Manuel Pangilinan warned that removing system loss charges without a clear funding mechanism could trigger financial losses across the power sector.
