Atty. Madanlo has more than 10 years of experience specializing exclusively in the Philippine electric power industry, spanning the generation, distribution and supply sectors.
As such, she has high level expertise in the legal and regulatory aspects of the industry, particularly the implementation of and compliance with various laws governing the power industry, including the Electric Power Industry Reform Act of 2001, the Renewable Energy Act of 2008, the Microgrid Systems Act, their implementing rules and regulations, as well as the various policy and regulatory issuances of the Department of Energy (“DOE”) and the Energy Regulatory Commission.
She has closely handled around fifty (50) power generation projects of various technologies (conventional and renewable) – from large-scale baseload power plants to small-scale rural electrification projects – covering all project stages, from project development to construction and commercial operations. She has also handled various transmission and power distribution projects.
Atty. Madanlo’s expertise in the power industry goes beyond legal – encompassing the technical and commercial aspects of the industry as well. She advises clients on various technical matters such as plant configuration and connection asset design, as well as on commercial matters such as the derivation and justification of power generation tariffs, as well as the development of price adjustment formulas.
Background
Atty. Madanlo has a litigation and finance background, having worked as a litigation lawyer at Fortun Narvasa Salazar, one of the most prestigious litigation law firms in the country, and as Legal Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Enterprise Bank.
She received her Bachelor of Laws degree from Ateneo de Davao University in 2011, among the top 10 graduates in her class. She previously received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, Major in Behavioral Studies in 2005, from the University of the Philippines.
